| Candidiasis - or yeast infection, formerly called monoilia, is when the one-cell yeast called Candida Albicans spreads beyond its normal level in our guts. | |
Typical forms of candidiasis::
In the guts, it normally is kept under control by different bacteria present in a healthy gut system. Candidiasis means that the yeast cells change to a more aggressive form and spread outside the guts. In the more severe cases, the disease is calles systematic candidiasis.Candidiasis causes
There are international surveys showing that as many as 80% of all women and 50% of all men are infected by Candida Albicans. The damage caused will depend on how long the cause is present, what food you eat and the status of your immune system. Almost everyone have antibodies against Candida present in their blood and if the immune system is damaged, the Candida Albicans may get a free run to grow. As an example, it is very common with a large Candida growth among Aids patients and cancer patients treated with radiation or kemotherapy. Candidiasis, if not treated, will cause many symptoms, permanent or recurring, primary or secondary, physical or psychical. Poisons from the Candida will circulate with the bloodstream and cause symptoms everywhere. For children - symptoms of candidiasis can be white residue in the mouth. Symptoms of candidiasis (thrush) are easily confused with other diseases like bad digestion, sour throat, bad breath, gases, rectal itching and pain when urinating. Allergies are also common, problems with the blood sugar, tiredness, depression, mood changes and nerve system symptoms. AntibioticsThe use of antibiotics is the main cause of candidiasis getting out of control. Unfortunately, penicilin doesn't just kill harmful bacteria like coli, streptococci, tubercolosi etc - it kills indiscriminately, even the "good bacteria" in your guts. This in turn will lead to growth of Candida and to problems for your guts to absorb nutrients and salts which in turn will affect the immune system which is vital for controlling the candida levels. Candidiasis treatment (thrush cures)There are several known home remedies which can be used in the less severe cases and in the worst cases there are antifungal cremes available to treat the infected area.
