Candidiasis cures:Thrush treatment |
So what is thrush? It is an infection caused by the naturally occurent yeast Candida, normally present in small numbers on the skin and around the vaginal area. |
Thrush (candidiasis) can be cured in many ways. The "normal" medical way is to attack the symptoms and use antifungal cremes (mycostatin, canesteen etc) on the skin and in the vagina etc where the symptoms occur. |
The thrush infection is when conditions improve for this yeast - due to heat, stress, immune defense problems etc - and it multiplies too much and cause vaginal symptoms.Although this is very efficient, it may not always address the root cause of the problem and there is a risk of reoccurance later when the treatment is over. Candida thrives in warm and humid surroundings, preferably without air contact so the typical places for the infection is the vagina, mouth - but also groins or nappy areas for babies.Home cures for thrushCommon remedies include yogurt, acidophilus etc and uses the fact that lowering the pH will create a hostile environment for the Candida yeast cells or for acigophilus - these "good" bacteria has the effect of killing yeast cells.Using yogurtCandida cleansing using yougurt is very common and in fact rather effective. Usually yogurt is applied abundantly on the skin (or in the vagina) where the infection is. You need to repeat this procedure a couple of times a day until the thrush symptoms disappear and preferably a little longer (keep going for another day at least) to prevent re-infection. Make sure you use yogurt with live acidophilus culture! There are many ideas on how to apply the yogurt, you could simply use your fingers but there are more clever ways like using a syringe without needle, using frozen beads of yogurt etc.
Other thrush remediesWe are only mentioning these other cures for thrush (candidiasis) here so you can get an idea on what there is and search further on the net. You can also use cranberries (old and well known method), boric acid, bicarbonate of soda etc. Most of these house cures for thrush are fairly safe and you can experiment a bit with the dose and how to apply (or use). |
